riviera maya part two

There are Mayan Ruins everywhere. The beautiful coastline stretches for hundreds of miles. The limestone landscape is scattered with cenotes – deep caverns that can drop for a hundred meters bellow the surface, usually filled with water. There is a lot to explore in the Riviera Maya.

We were able to spend a lot of time exploring away from Playa del Carmen – where I lived for the first 5 months of 2017. We explored the Caribbean – from the sandy beaches and by boat on the open water. We snorkelled in the freshwater cenotes and in the crystal blue ocean. We found Mayan Ruins, the remenant of the pre-hispanic civilization that called the Yucatan Peninsula home.
